INSPIRE: a stimulance for the use of geographical data
The INSPIRE-program – initiated by the European Commission – is a big stimulance for the use of geographical data. The INSPIRE-directives drive at a uniform way of managing, storing, and disclosing environmental data in Europe.
An ambition which must increase the exchange of geographical data in order to be able to solve calamities quicker, and enable a more direct approach on working on infrastructural bottlenecks (by for instance, traffic regulation, energy distribution, and safety), with the aim to strenghten the European Union in both social and economic respect. The disclosing of environmental data is also intended to speed up procedures, for granting permits, surveillance and control management.
The increased availability of environmental data through INSPIRE, but also through for instance the Copernicus-program of the European Space Agency (ESA), feeds the need of companies and authorities for ways of implementation.
Throughout Europe so called Living Labs are established in which enterprises and authorities work together in developing solutions for an effective use of BIG-data (telecom-, sensor-, and satelite-data) in combination with other geographical data sources (like Kadaster data).
Living Lab: regulating data streams for men and society
The importance of geographical data is reflected on the fair ground of the Intergeo, where much attention is given to the perfect acquiring of geographical data. Providers of laser scan aerial photography, HR satelite imagery, advanced land measurement equipment, UAS for mapping and 3D modeling stand booth to booth in the six halls of the fair.
On the stand of Nazca IT Solutions the focus was mainly put on combining geographical information from different data sources for, for instance, fighting vacant houses, the effective use of building sites within the city parameters and the enhancement of citizen participation. Combining complex data streams is vital for the economic challenges of tomorrow and solving social questions.
Nazca IT Solutions wants to thank all visitors, and warmly invites you to the next Intergeo. See you in Stuttgart!
